GLENDALE, Ariz. – The third-seeded Stanton men's tennis team made a loud statement in their return to Arizona, dominating sixth-seeded Northern New Mexico with a 4-0 sweep in the opening round of the GSAC Championships at the Paseo Racquet Center.
Doubles Dominance
Stanton wasted no time establishing control, quickly securing the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead.

Yohann Molle and Achille Scattolin earned a win by default at the No. 3 spot.

The duo of Oleksandr Kolesnychenko and Lemiel Taira delivered a flawless 6-0 performance at No. 1.

Egor Pishchelev and Matthias Bigot matched that energy with another 6-0 shutout at the No. 2 position.
Singles Clinical Finish
The momentum carried directly into singles play, where Stanton efficiently closed the door on the Timberwolves:

Default Wins: Sebastian Koster (No. 5) and Achille Scattolin (No. 6) picked up default victories to push the lead to 3-0.

The Clincher: Egor Pishchelev provided the final blow at the No. 2 spot, dismantling Ja'Kwon Hill with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory to secure the match.
At the time the match was clinched, Stanton held leads or remained competitive in the unfinished matches featuring Kolesnychenko, Molle, and Bigot.

With the victory, Stanton advances to the semifinal round. They are scheduled to face the second-seeded Lewis-Clark State on Friday morning at 10 a.m. PT, with a spot in the championship final on the line.
