Elks Fall To Sea Lions
Winning Streak Over
SAN DIEGO, CA - The Stanton University men's tennis team traveled to beautiful San Diego, California, this week for a high-stakes doubleheader against Point Loma. Competing alongside the Lady Elks, the men entered the matches riding an impressive winning streak; however, the Sea Lions proved to be a formidable opponent, handing the Elks a tough road defeat.
Doubles Action
The Elks started strong on the outer courts but struggled to sweep the doubles point. Oleksandr Kolesnychenko and Lemiel Kei put on a dominant display to win their set 6-3. They were matched by the duo of Egor Pishchelev and Matthias Bigot, who also secured a 6-3 victory. Despite these wins, Yohann Molle and Achille Scattolin fell in a hard-fought 3-6 battle, allowing Point Loma to stay within striking distance.
Singles Grind
As the matches moved into singles play, the coastal winds and Point Loma's depth began to take a toll.

Top Courts: Oleksandr Kolesnychenko battled through a tight first set before falling 6-4, 6-2. Egor Pishchelev started with a definitive 6-0 set but could not maintain the momentum to close out the match.

Middle Lineup: Yohann Molle fell with identical scores of 6-3, 6-3, while Matthias Bigot fought through a narrow 7-5 opening set before dropping the second 6-0.

Final Results: Sebastian Koster was bested 6-2, 6-3, and Achille Scattolin wrapped up the day with a 6-2, 6-0 result.
While the loss brings an end to their recent run of perfection, the Elks showed flashes of the brilliance that fueled their streak. The team now looks to regroup and see if they can bounce back in their next outing.
