They Came, They Played, They Conquered
The Little Team That Could
The Stanton Elks have done it — crowned the 2025 Cal Pac Regular Season Champions in their first year of NAIA competition. What began as a season of uncertainty quickly transformed into one of dominance, heart, and history.
During the Cal Pac Championship Tournament, the Elks finally received their long-awaited hardware — the Regular Season Championship trophy — along with several well-deserved individual honors. Head Coach Vitor Gameiro was named Cal Pac Coach of the Year, a testament to his leadership and vision in guiding this young program. Rising star Lorenzo Jacon added to Stanton's accolades by sweeping both Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards, an extraordinary achievement that highlights his impact on and off the field.
From being NAIA newcomers to climbing the Cal Pac ranks, Stanton's journey this season has been nothing short of remarkable. The Elks posted an impressive 11-1-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in conference play, proving that their rise was no fluke. Entering as underdogs, they shocked established programs and showed the nation what hard work, unity, and belief can accomplish.
With such a young roster, the future shines even brighter for Stanton. The coaching staff has built a foundation rich with raw talent and untapped potential — players who have only begun to show what they're capable of.
Now recognized on a national level with an NAIA RV (Receiving Votes) ranking and a conference title under their belt, the Elks have put the country on notice. Only time will tell what's next for this incredible group of young men, but one thing is certain — the era of Stanton soccer has begun.
