Stanton Clinches Cal Pac Title in Inaugural NAIA Season
Cal Pac Has New Regular Season Champs
ANAHEIM, Calif. — In a storybook first season, the Stanton University Elks have officially clinched the 2025 Cal Pac Regular Season Championship, marking a monumental achievement for a program that only began NAIA competition this fall.
Just months ago, Stanton was voted into the NAIA and entered Cal Pac play with a roster brimming with youth, ambition, and untested talent. What followed was nothing short of remarkable — a rapid ascent from newcomer to conference champion in their very first year of competition.
The Elks' journey began in August against two of the GSAC's top sides, Soka University and Hope International, where both matches ended in hard-fought draws that hinted at the team's potential. From there, Stanton caught fire, embarking on an eight-game winning streak that included statement victories over established programs such as The Master's, Westcliff, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Once Cal Pac play began, the Elks carried their momentum with purpose and precision. They closed conference action with a 7-1 record and an overall mark of 11-1-2 — a campaign defined by discipline, creativity, and resilience. Along the way, Stanton pulled off upsets against reigning powerhouses and earned the respect of peers and pollsters alike, receiving national votes in the NAIA coaches' poll — a rare feat for a debut program. As the regular season concludes, the Elks' improbable run stands as a milestone not just for Stanton University but for the entire Cal Pac. What began as a season of discovery has transformed into one of dominance — and the young Elks have etched their name into conference history as champions.
The postseason awaits, but for now, Stanton can take pride in a first chapter written in gold.
