The Stanton Elks flew to Portland, Oregon to face off against Corban University and Bushnell University in their first 2 games of the season.
On Aug. 15 Stanton played against Corban University in Salem, Oregon. Inaugurating the season wearing the away-kit of white and grey our men were thrilled to be in the beautiful state of Oregon. A goal from freshman Timon Okupniak with the assistance of senior Victor Malaquias put the Elks in front during the early part of the 2nd half. Unfortunately Corban was able to pull through cleanching a vicory of 2-1. The next day, they traveled out to Eugene, Oregon to play against Bushnell University at Civic Park. With the results from the previous game still fresh in the minds of our players, they went into the game feeling motivated. Suffering a goal in the 1st half of the match, the men went into half time seeking direction from Head Coach Diogo Pereira and Associate Head Coach Vitor Gamerio. Strategy and guidence resulted in a spectacular goal from our Italian freshman Francesco De Marco assisted again by Victor Malaquias. The Elks went home with a tie of 1-1.
