Tough Loss On The Road

PHOENIX, AZ – The Stanton University Elks arrived in Arizona this week to face Nelson University and Cal Pac newcomer Northern New Mexico. While the Elks dropped their opening game to Nelson, the team's performance showed promise for the rest of the road trip.

The Elks faced a tough test against Nelson University, falling 99-79. Despite the loss, Stanton remained competitive for much of the contest, driven by strong individual efforts from their veteran leaders.

Top Performers:

• Nigel McKay: The senior guard continues to lead the offense and remains a top-10 scorer in the conference. His playmaking kept the Elks within reach during the first half.

• Jovanni Tapia: Playing in his home state, Tapia provided high energy in the paint. Following a recent double-double, his rebounding remains a critical asset for the Elks' interior defense.

Next Up: Northern New Mexico

Stanton now shifts its focus to Northern New Mexico College, the newest addition to the California Pacific Conference. The Eagles feature some of the top scorers in the Cal Pac, including Harkirath Makhar and Ja'Kwon Hill.
